Welcome to Ali Bahbahani Business Consultancy’s blog! I’m excited to have you here as we explore the worlds of business, finance, hospitality, and more. With over 20 years of experience across various industries—from banking and finance to automotive and hospitality—I’ve learned much about what it takes to drive growth and achieve success. This blog is my way of sharing those insights and experience with you.
What to Expect
Banking and Finance: Navigating the Evolving Landscape
Having been deeply involved in the banking and finance sector for many years, particularly in Kuwait, I have witnessed firsthand the profound changes reshaping the industry. Traditional banking models are no longer sufficient for growth in today’s competitive environment. Banks must now evolve and integrate more seamlessly into their customers’ daily lives.
This is where Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) comes into play—a transformative approach that helps banks stay relevant and drive growth. By adopting BaaS, banks can offer personalized, convenient, and accessible services, embedding themselves in their customers’ everyday activities. This shift enhances customer loyalty and opens up new revenue streams.
I’ll share insights on how banks can implement these strategies, reshape their business models, and position themselves as indispensable partners in their customers’ lives. The evolution towards BaaS is a significant opportunity for growth and a necessary step for banks to thrive in the future of finance.
Hospitality and Luxury: Crafting Exceptional Experiences
I have a deep passion for the hospitality industry, driven by extensive experience and a clear understanding of what it takes to create standout concepts that resonate with today’s discerning travellers. I focus on exceeding customer expectations through innovation in luxury experiences or developing cutting-edge hotel concepts.
During my tenure at Ali Alghanim and Sons, our commitment to exceptional customer service resulted in consistently high Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and adherence to all brand-related standards. This philosophy continues to guide my hospitality ventures, supported by insights from my MBA studies at EHL Lausanne.
I’m launching a special hospitality blog within Inside Hospitality to share my daily interactions in the industry. This platform will highlight successes and areas for improvement and offer practical strategies for creating luxury experiences that foster long-term customer loyalty.
Automotive: Navigating Growth and Innovation in a Dynamic Industry
My involvement in expanding the brand portfolio and driving growth at Ali Alghanim and Sons Automotive gave me deep insights into this complex industry. Managing relationships with global companies across various market segments—from luxury to economical brands—was essential to our success.
One innovative strategy was partnering with Oula and Alpha fuel stations, making us the only automotive company in Kuwait to offer services in residential areas. This expansion enhanced customer convenience and satisfaction, a crucial aspect of managing our growing car park.
In this blog, I’ll share my lessons about managing brand expansion, improving service networks, and forging partnerships that add value for customers in the dynamic automotive industry.
Customer Experience: The Key to Business Success
In all my roles, the critical importance of customer experience has become increasingly apparent. Exceptional customer experiences can make or break a company, driving sales, retention, and word-of-mouth marketing.
I’ve seen how a strong focus on customer experience can lead to significant business growth. For example, at Ali Alghanim and Sons, our customer-centric approach led to increased sales and loyalty. Creating these experiences requires careful design of customer journeys and robust feedback systems, which are crucial for any company aiming for long-term success.
Technology and Innovation: Navigating Change with Minimal Disruption
Leading through two significant system changes has given me valuable insights into implementing new technologies with minimal disruption. The first was at Kuwait International Bank, where I oversaw the transition from conventional to Islamic banking. The second was at Ali Alghanim and Sons, where we switched our management system provider to ensure compliance with Kuwaiti stock market listing requirements and corporate governance standards.
Technology is transforming every aspect of business. I’ll discuss how companies can leverage advancements to improve efficiency, stay competitive, and better serve their customers while maintaining transition stability.
Horse Racing and Sports: Elevating the Spectator Experience
Horse racing is a passion I’ve pursued through specialized education and hands-on experience. My focus extends beyond the race to enhance the overall experience for all involved—fans, spectators, and stakeholders.
In this blog, I’ll share insights on improving the fan experience in horse racing and other sports, from enhancing facilities to creating more inclusive events. We’ll also explore ways to grow these industries through community engagement, bringing more people into the sport and strengthening ties with local organizations.
