Among 196 state parties to the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, Kuwait shares this unique absence with just 27 other nations globally. Neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman have capitalized on UNESCO recognition to boost tourism and global recognition:

  • Saudi Arabia’s AlUla heritage site has transformed into a major tourist attraction and that is contributing to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030​.
